Oxley – Multi-activity and Training Weekend 2- 4 October 2009
The Benalla and District Horse Driving Club will again be holding its multi-activity and training weekend at the Oxley Recreational Reserve. The event will be held from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th October. It will be the 6th year the event will be held. It is an informal event designed for fun and learning without the stress of competition. You can undertake training and experiment with a number of activities in preparation for the season ahead. The emphasis of the weekend is on practice, socializing and enjoyment.
Oxley is a small village of less than a few hundred people in the North East of Victoria placed between Wangaratta and the King Valley. The Region is famous for its wineries a and food such as John Gehrig’s and the Milawa Bakery. If you want a break from carriage driving, keen fisherman have been known to catch Murray Cod from the banks of the King River which gently flows by the recreational reserve.
The facilities at the Reserve are being upgraded with the newly renovated club house providing comfort for all types of weather conditions. The weekend includes lessons with Mike Thill passing on his immense knowledge of carriage driving. Look forward to seeing you there. For further information contact Bev Bresanello
